All along, we thought Paris Hilton's best sporting event was shopping. Would you believe it's actually...ice hockey?

No, that's not a typo.

"I've played ice hockey since I was 16 years old," Hilton reveals to E! News. "And yes, I'm pretty good at it." She even plans to teach boyfriend Benji Madden to play.

In fact, Paris says that while attending Canterbury High School in Connecticut, she was a member of the school's ice-hockey team.

"And I still like to play," says Hilton, pointing out there's a rink in Culver City, Calif., where she occasionally hits the ice. "Though I don't get to do it very often."

Well, if that's the new secret for staying skinny in Hollywood, sign us up.

But we also hear that since moving to a new gated community in Beverly Hills, far from the prying eyes of the paparazzi, she feels more comfortable displaying her sporty side.

Hilton is firming up for the promotional tour in support of her latest reality series, My New BFF, and has been in-line skating and bike riding through her neighborhood. She's also given up sodas and all fast food—including her favorite, McDonald's. That, and a hectic schedule, keeps her thin.

She confesses to hating gyms, just like the rest of us. What else does she avoid? Counting calories.

"I never do that," she says. "I wouldn't even know how to do that."

Moving forward with her reality show obligations, Paris Hilton, along with sister Nicky, enjoyed a day of shopping in Hollywood with the winners of a competition from “My New BFF”.

The heiress sisters headed over to Robertson Boulevard after dining at The Ivy in Los Angeles - visiting Paige Denim before leaving with several bags of goodies as Paris exclaimed, “I love this!” to her handbag designer sister.

From there, the Hilton gals visited Kitson, with Nicky looking quite bored while browsing the racks as Paris had a small meet and greet with two of her adoring fans.

The former Simple Life starlet read excerpts from her new book “The Heiress Journal” while her audience of two looked on in awe - with Paris loving the attention as she continued on with her posing spree even after she was finished with the meet and greet.

Paris Hilton has a new reality show in the works, and it only makes sense that the show would need a theme song. So Hilton has enlisted her boyfriend, Benji Madden, from the band Good Charlotte, to help her with a song.

Hilton told E! News that she and Madden are working on the theme song for her MTV reality show "My New BFF."

Paris Hilton is making good on her promise to become a better person.

The 27-year-old socialite made an "extremely generous" donation toward the construction of a medical building at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, hospital officials said Thursday, although they did not specify the amount.

"The children I have met through my involvement with Childrens Hospital have truly touched my heart," Hilton said in a statement. "I am proud to make a donation and lend my name to the fundraising effort to help children who are facing terribly serious illnesses."

PARIS HILTON DENIES SHE USES ANIMALS AS FASHION ACCESSORIES 

The tears are fairly flowing from Paris Hilton's wonk-eye (and probably streaming straight up her forehead) as the socialite feels she is being unfairly picked on by some parts of the media. It was reported last week that Paris popped into a pet store to buy a cute little puppy for a photo shoot since it would go well with her dress. When the staff refused (the story goes) Paris flounced out like a carrier bag caught in an up-draught.

Well, it's just not true, says Paris, defending herself on her MySpace page, whimpering like the spoilt little animal that she is.

Here she was with Benji Madden out in the sunshine of Hollywood yesterday - looking rather scary in a Stepford Wife kind of way (I'm sorry, but that amount of colour co-ordination freaks me out); although not as scary as Benji, who looks like the Scary Younger Blues Brother.

Anyway, their outfits aside: Paris has been blogging on her MySpace page. Under the heading 'Sick of rumors', she writes about an untrue story involving her, a Yorkie puppy, a pet store and a photo shoot. I won't go into the details, but suffice it to say: "I wanted to let you know that I've been getting messages and reading stories... These stories have gotten out of control and I want to clear some things up... I love animals and the cruel things people say are not acceptable. Puppies are not accessories or toys and I love my own pets dearly - I treat them as if they were my children."

Hmm. Not that that last sentence really helps matters, but still. "I have no idea where people come up with these stories," continues Paris, "and they are spreading to so many news outlets that I just have to speak my mind and clear things up, especially with my fans. I love you all."

Paris Hilton has slammed reports she was turned away from a Los Angeles pet store earlier this month, insisting the false stories have "gotten out of control."

According to the New York Post's gossip column Page Six, the hotel heiress was on her way to a photo shoot when she stopped at The Puppy Store on Melrose Avenue to buy a Yorkie dog to accompany her in the shoot.

But the publication claimed she was banned from doing so by one of the store workers because they saw it as "an impulse buy."

Hilton has now hit back at the allegations, insisting she "loves" her pups and would never treat them as "accessories."

The star, who is dating Good Charlotte rocker Benji Madden, claims she wasn't even at the store at the time of the alleged incident.

In a post on her blog, she says, "I wanted to let you know that I've been getting messages and reading stories about an incident that supposedly happened with me and a pet store: I was catching up on news last week only to read a story about me walking by some puppies for sale, and demanding that I be given a Yorkie puppy to be an accessory for a photo shoot. These stories have gotten out of control and I want to clear some things up.

"I wasn't looking for a new pet, I wasn't even at a photo shoot that day, (I was down the street at Benji's DCMA clothing store) and I actually have a Yorkie puppy. I love animals and the cruel things people say are not acceptable. Puppies are not accessories or toys and I love my own pets dearly I treat them as if they were my children.. .. So it is sad that someone felt the need to invent a story about me throwing a fit for a dog that would 'go with my outfit.'

The socialite wore the intended disguise at a Hollywood showbiz bash.

But her blonde locks and distinctive face gave her away.

Paris, 27, wowed guests in a slinky black outfit and arrived waving a sparkling wand.

But it wasn’t long before she pulled back her mask.

She partied with pals at the My New BFF Masquerade Ball to celebrate her latest reality TV show.

The programme involves auditioning members of the public for a job as her new mate. 

Paris sets the record straight regarding the rumored double wedding.

It seems as though after Nicole Richie and Joel Madden’s daughter, Harlow, was born, rumors have been tumbling in regarding a joint ceremony with Paris Hilton and Benji Madden. Although Paris has admitted in the past that she would love to start a family with her man, Benji, and eventually take it to the next level, she has dismissed reports, claiming that all the rumors are untrue.

“I've been hearing that rumor. But no, I think we both would want to have separate weddings,” Paris said in an interview with the Los Angeles DJ, Ryan Seacrest.

However, the foursome is excited for more time together and are about to be heading on the road for the highly-anticipated Good Charlotte tour.

“It's weird . . . we're dating twins but it's pretty perfect. We are all going on tour this summer, so I'm really excited about that,” the hotel heiress adds, according to The Province. However, there will most definitely not be a double wedding for the pairs. Maybe best friends don’t share everything after all. . . .

She’s been in the Big Apple filming footage for her new MTV reality show and it seems that Paris Hilton is making full use of New York City’s endless supply of designer clothes.

To kick off the evening, Miss Hilton was spotted in midtown Manhattan in a belted white retro-looking dress teamed with red heels and an oversized black handbag.

The former “Simple Life” starlet swapped into a lacey black ensemble with a massive pearl necklace and a floral headdress as she continued making her rounds - heading over to a Korean karaoke bar before venturing off to TAO nightclub for an exclusive VIP party.

Never one to end an evening too soon, the hotel heiress met up with boyfriend Benji Madden, who just flew in from Los Angeles, ending the night at Tenjune before heading back to their luxury hotel.
