New York: Socialite Paris Hilton is set to launch a new career as a DJ in front of thousands of fans in Brazil this summer. Hilton will perform at the Pop Music Festival in Sao Paulo in June, following appearances by singers Jennifer Lopez and Kelly Clarkson. She will hit the booth for an hour-long show.

"I have been a part of the music scene and club scene since I was 15. It`s something I have been passionate about and have come to respect very much. I am very excited to share all of my hard work with the world," contactmusic.com quoted her as saying. Hilton is also perfecting her turntable skills with the help of boyfriend and international DJ Afrojack, who she joined on stage at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami, Florida in March.

Paris Hilton is reinventing herself yet again. The 31-year-old former reality TV star is set to make her debut as a DJ at Sao Paolo, Brazil's Pop Music Festival. She'll be the festival's closing performer in a lineup that also includes Jenifer Lopez and Kelly Clarkson.

"Paris is part of the tight-knit DJ group and has built some very good friendships including, Afrojack, Kaskade, David Guetta, Avicii, Tiesto, Swedish House Mafia, Calvin Harris, and Will.i.am," an unnamed source tells Celebuzz. "She's had the opportunity to travel the world attending every festival and rave. Her music will be more than impressive."

The hotel chain heiress is reportedly working hard to prep for the big event,  but is confident in her DJ-ing skills since she's apparently been spinning records privately for years. In 2006, Hilton's music career lasted for about five seconds when she released an album featuring the single "Stars Are Blind."

Paris Hilton is gearing up to release her brand new single this summer, so it's reported. According to Livepass, the upcoming song titled "After Midnight" comes from production hands of Afrojack and features electropop duo LMFAO.

Rumor has it, the socialite will premiere the single on June 5 during Ryan Seacrest's radio show. She's rumored to perform it at the Pop Musical Festival in Sao Paulo on June 23, and will shoot its music video later in May.

Earlier in January, Paris gave update on her new album to MTV News at the Weinstein Golden Globes after-party. She spilled, "I was just in the studio with Redfoo the other night, so we're going to be doing my new single with LMFAO."

"I'm so excited. The music's turning out so great and I can't wait to release it this summer," she added. "It's completely different from my last album. I'm going with a whole new genre. I have Afrojack executive-producing the entire album. So we've just been coming up with the most incredible tracks."

Paris Hilton–Queen of the Dance Floor and Handbags & Accessories in the Middle East–has been globetrotting for well over a year now, surveying the club scene and taking glam onstage shots with tons of DJs on her bedazzled Blackberry.

At the same time, the socialite-turned-songstress has been putting in work at the studio recording her much, much, much anticipated “House-inspired” sophomore record, which is being executive produced by Afrojack. While we’ve already heard a taste of what’s to come when the Dutch DJ teased out a deliciously icy teaser last year called “Good Time,” as well as “Drunk Text”–the World’s Greatest Sexting Cautionary Tale crafted with Manufactured Superstars–it seems Paris is finally prepared to premiere the first official single.

According to Digital Spy, the new single–”After Midnight”–will premiere on On-Air with Ryan Seacrest on June 5, exactly six years since the release of her debut single “Stars Are Blind.” And if she’s keeping to her word from back in January, it’s going to feature LMFAO.

To make the news even more impossibly amazing, Brazilian site Livepass reports that Queen Hilton will be performing (!) at the Pop Music Festival in Sao Paulo, alongside Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Lopez. (Be right back–researching flights to Brazil immediately.)

Overwhelmed? You should be. This is the Greatest Pop News of 2012, second only to Girls Aloud‘s impending reunion and X Factor-ney. FORTUNE -- In the summer of 2009 a Danish mobile phone analyst named John Strand issued a 105-page report entitled  "The moment of truth: a portrait of the iPhone," that listed the "10 largest myths" about Apple's (AAPL) smartphone:

1) The iPhone drives data traffic into mobile operators networks
2) The iPhone helps operators attract new customers
3) The iPhone is good business for mobile operators
4) The iPhone is dominating the mobile services market
5) App store is a huge success that has revolutionised the services market
6) There is money to be made by developing applications for the iPhone
7) It is iPhone customers that are generating the majority of online mobile surfing traffic
8) The iPhone has a large market share
9) The iPhone was the first mobile phone with a touchscreen
10) The iPhone is a technologically advanced mobile phone

Many of Strand's ideas seem so laughably wrong today that it's hard to believe that they were ever taken seriously. But they were happily picked up by headline writers on both sides of the Atlantic, in part because Strand was always willing to dress up his heresies with eye-catching quotes. In his favorite, repeated at every opportunity, he called the iPhone "the Paris Hilton of mobile phones," as if it were a sexy but empty-headed flash-in-the-pan.

Fast forward to 2012, and Strand's Myth No. 3 -- the (mistaken) idea that carrying the iPhone is good business for mobile operators -- has been making a comeback. It started in early April, when Walter Piecyk, an analyst at BTIG, downgraded Apple from buy to neutral and told Bloomberg TV "Operators are trying to fight back against the impact that Apple is having on their business." Soon the iPhone's subsidy was being blamed for everything from a CEO's multimillion dollar pay cut to the drop in Apple's share price that preceded the company's Q2 2012 blow-out earnings.

"Okay, This Carrier Subsidy Problem May Be A Real Concern For Apple's Stock" wrote Business Insider's Henry Blodget Tuesday, picking up on a theme explored in the Wall Street Journal the day before.
I just don't get it. If the iPhone is so bad for the phone companies, why are they falling over themselves trying to get Apple to let them carry it?

We put the question to Horace Dediu, who spent several years doing market analysis for Nokia (NOK) before launching his Asymco blog and conference business.

"An iPhone subsidy costs about $400," Dediu replied. "An iPhone customer will spend about $2,400 for service over the life of that phone. Every dollar of subsidy is worth six dollars of revenue. In addition, iPhone customers are more loyal, spend more and tend to stick with the carrier. What's the question again?"

John Strand, by the way, is still around, trash-talking the iPhone at every opportunity. Enjoying a bit of fresh air with one of her furry friends, Paris Hilton took her pooch for a bike ride along the tree-lined streets of Hollywood, California. Always stylish no matter what the occasion, the blonde socialite donned a pair of dark specs, a loose black tank top and her favorite dark wash PRVCY denim with a pair of blue sneakers.

Seemingly plugging the fashion brand's dudes during her post-outing message, Paris tweeted, "Love my new Prvcy Jeans, so comfy! They have some amazing new styles."That's not the only style house Miss Hilton has pumped up the press for as of late, as earlier in the week the former "Simple Life" babe donned a frock from her her mother's new line, and later offering up a pic of the piece with a caption "Sitting pretty with KathyHilton and KyleRichards18 in our Kathy Hilton Collection dresses."

The socialite attended a hearing in New York to show a judge that she is serious about her claims against the underwear business. Paris and Le Bonitas are embroiled in a lawsuit over a product arrangement gone wrong.

The 31-year-old arranged a five-year deal to create a line of briefs, pajamas and swimwear with the company, however the project fizzled out for unknown reasons. Paris is not only trying to claim money from the brand but they are seeking a financial settlement from her too.

The star showed up to federal court where lawyers argued key issues for each side. A source told TMZ.com that she showed up because she wants the court to know how important the case is to her and her personal brand. She is suing for more than $1.5 million - the amount she was supposed to earn in royalties.

Mark Wright could have his pick of any woman, really - especially with that body, that cheeky smile and that Essex-boy charm. But it appears that his former TOWIE co-star Amy Childs is keen to set him up with one of the most famous ladies on the planet: Paris Hilton.

The 21-year-old reality TV star revealed to The Daily Star her plans to take Paris out in Essex to the famous Sugar Hut nightclub. "She tweeted me about her trip," Amy said. "She said she was coming to London in June and July and can't wait to see me and have a nice night out.

"We've got to go to Sugar Hut and Nu Bar and do the Essex thing."She continued with her romantic set-up plans: "And I want her to get an Essex boyfriend, so I'll try to set her up with Mark Wright. Watch this space."

With Paris coming over to Essex, and Mark shortly going over to LA to pursue an acting career, maybe a relationship between the two is likely. After all, they both have a lot in common, starting with their big egos and their expert preening methods!

Amy is also keen to take the heiress along to her own salon, where maybe Paris can get herself a nice bright orange Essex tan? That realistic California tan just won't cut it in Brentwood! "I'll give her a makeover and a nice spray tan. She will fit in well with the girls here," Amy revealed.

Amy added that Paris is a huge fan of hers: "Last week, Paris sent me a message on Twitter saying she really likes me... I replied to say I loved her show and would really like to meet her, too."We can't wait to see the Twitpics of Amy and Paris out on the town together - maybe they'll become new BFFs? Famous for being famous socialite, Paris Hilton will be opening a store in Independencia, Peru in the fall. The store will be located in Independencia’s Plaza Norte and will offer Hilton’s line of handbags, perfume, shirts, shoes, and watches. This will be the hotel heiress’ first store in Latin America, though she also has stores in India, South Korea, and the Philippines. As of 2012, 31-year-old Hilton, who is also a model and fashion designer, is worth more than $100 million.
