Kim Kardashian, otherwise known as Paris Hilton's former BFF, had a Birthday party at Tao in Las Vegas on Friday night and Paris Hilton was nowhere to be found. That really shouldn't be much of a surprise as this former gal-pal was tired of Paris Hilton's ways and wanted her own spotlight. Don't worry, that didn't bring down the "slut-factor" of this event, writes tPC fave Michael K of DListed.com.  Michael ponders, "I don't know why I like Kim Kardashian. She's absolutely ridiculous. She looks like the 45-year-old mistress of a sheik or something." We kind-of agree. Apparently Paris has been getting away from Kim because of multiple people coming up to her and speaking about the sex tape of Kim and Ray J.  Paris apparently was more than upset that Kim was now getting noticed and being recognized as the new "Paris Hilton of 2007," writes Jonathan Jaxson.  "One day Kim would say how much she hated the whole 'Hollywood High School' like scene, yet the next she was hanging out with the same crowd."According to Jaxson, it was from Kim's mouth that said Britney had her people contact Paris and say they couldn't hang out anymore because Paris wasn't good for her image.Kardashian will never be able to wield the kind of power Paris does. It is really quite amazing Paris has that much power in the Hollywood circle, especially over budding socialites.
